The Centre for the Protection of Orphans, Vulnerable Children and Rehabilitation

One of the designed structures of the centre

This Centre for the Protection and assistance of Children would preferably be built in the vicinity of Buea, or any other more secured area in the headquarters of one of the two conflict ridden English speaking regions of Cameroon. This is to support the daily operations of LINK-UP in protecting and assisting children in need, some who are victims of the ongoing conflict as well as the orphans and vulnerable children in these communities.

The Centre will provide shelter, protection, counseling, sponsorship, meals, animation, lodging and other support services to children in distress, needy, unaccompanied, neglected, separated from their families or victims of worst forms of domestic abuse/violence, until some favourable arrangement, home placement or social reintegration solution is found.

This Centre will revive the lost hope in children and inspire others who would have derailed, to refocus in education, life skill/apprenticeship training and other productive human development activities, through the various Child Sponsorship and Guardian Care Services opportunities provided by LINK-UP.

LINK-UP was established in the year 2000 with the aim of assisting orphans and vulnerable children fulfill their full physical and intellectual potentials.  LINK-UP seeks to leverage on the age-old African adage that, “it takes a village to raise a child”. This is by enhancing weak family support system, already over strained by large numbers of orphans and vulnerable children in their care, through promotion of access to education, healthcare and livelihood development services.
