Past Projects.

LINK-UP is a Development and Humanitarian Child Centered organization operating in Cameroon since the year 2000. So far, it has assisted over 20,000 needy children in various domains including, fees, books, uniforms, birth certificates, food items, lodging, school transportation, access to educational resources, counselling, tutoring, remedial catchup classes, construction of Classrooms and dormitory structures, as well as non-formal education, where children are sponsored to learn a trade like Sewing, Byke and Car repairs, etc.

In her efforts to promote an enabling environment for the development of children, LINK-UP promotes easy access to learning resources through the Village Libraries Initiative, the Revolving core Textbooks Programs and community internet access. It also provides portable water and construct toilets to enhance community hygiene and curb the spread of diseases.
In her efforts to promote the economic wellbeing of poor families and informal low income communities, LINK-UP promotes capacity building in small business management, savings and access to credit.

It has participated in projects sponsored by the World Bank, the Global Fund to fight Aids, Malaria and Tuberculosis, through the Cameroon government, and participated in Fellowship on Social Entrepreneurship, which has greatly enhanced its work on Small Enterprise Development through Self Help Support Groups.

All these have help in our mission to assist needy children fulfill their full physical, intellectual and spiritual potentials and for poor families improve on their livelihoods, Education and Economic Empowerment programs.

For the above to be achieved, LINK-UP has been assisted by Staffs and volunteers from a variety of countries including, USA, Britain, Spain, Estonia, Holland, Germany, Italy and International University students on Exchange programs.
LINK-UP has also partnered with the American Peace Corps, and supported by the Roman OBEN foundation, (USA) The Church of the Savior (Holland) among others.

Summary of some past projects.
In 2018 – 2019, Putting smiles on the faces of children at Christmas and continuing, in Green Zones where schools are operational in the war torn North and South West Regions of Cameroon.
Identify needy orphans, displaced and vulnerable children affected by the war for assistance
Provide direct Psychosocial assistance to affected children and affected families

In 2016, we completed the test of concept for the Revolving Core Textbook (RECOTEXT) program at the end of the academic year, which registered a success rate of 98.14%, at GSS Bwiyuku – Buea. The Principal involved was Mr Agbo Hillary, Contact 675959045.

In 2015 we constructed a pit toilet for a disabled poor family in Tole of Mrs MBE Angeline.
In 2015 we launched the International letter exchange and friendship program between 132 children in five Primary Schools in Cameroon and a Primary School in Califonia USA school in the USA, to enhance the reading and writing culture within pupils and also to enhance cultural cohesion.

In 2014 we Launched two village libraries in rural communities with a total population of over 25,000 inhabitants. One in Njindom in Mbengwi Sub Division of the North West Region and the other in Tole in Buea Sub Division of the South West Region contact Person for Tole Library Mr. Forkwa Denis Tel: 674800891.

Between 2003 – 2006 we constructed and donated a fully equipped classroom and dormitory structure at HOTPEC Orphanage at Mile 14 Buea.
In 2005 we established an ITC centre, which operated up till 2013 provided access to internet and computer training to a community of over 60,000 inhabitants and now redundant as a result of the innovations in the sector with the coming of Android phones.

In 2003 LINK-UP was among the pioneer organizations to establish 35 Local HIV/AIDS Control Committees in Fako, Ndian and Meme Divisions of the South West Regions, a World Bank sponsored project, via the National AIDS Control Committee. This contributed enormously in raising awareness and curbing the spread of HIV/AIDS to a population in excess of 260,000.
